Chill, Dude

The temperature is dropping fast. I had to close my windows before nightfall. Tonight, only the brightest stars manage to shine through the overcast covering much of the sky. The air smells damp. The gray kitty is sleeping in the chair on my back porch. Even with the pillow on it, the spot can't be all that warm. We usually bring the pillow in on wintry nights, but I don't want to deprive a poor stray cat of what may be the most comfortable spot he has available, even if the pillowcase will probably get a bit damp this time of year. I don't know what effect, if any, the damp will have on the polyester fiber contents of the pillow. I suppose that once the nights get really cold the cat might stop sleeping here altogether and find some spot that's better sheltered from any stirring of the cold air, even if it lacks a comfy pillow. That would solve the problem of what to do about the pillow come winter. I guess I'll have to wait and see what he does.

It's gotten very late very fast tonight. Blame The Internet Public Library. More links than Farmer John.
