Countdown

Days are warm, nights are chilly, pollen is everywhere, frogs are croaking, geese are flying north, there is fluff in the sky. Feels like March already. Tonight the waxing moon is very bright, and fewer than 44 hours remain before it rises here just as its eclipse begins. So I need the weather pattern to hold for no more than 47 hours in order to see the whole thing (or as much as can be seen with all these trees about, but the oaks being bare it's only the pines that will partly block my view.) The closer the event gets the more vexed I'll be if clouds come and spoil it. After that, let it fog, let it rain, let it snow, whatever. The frogs and geese and such will just have to deal.


Speaking of beasts, the gray kitty has been hanging about all afternoon, making his tomcat territorial yowl. He must have sprayed right outside my window, because pungent cat spray was the first thing I smelled when I opened it today. Oh, kitty! Must you?
