We had a couple of days (and more importantly, nights) when the smoke was barely noticeable, but early this morning it came back, though not as thick as it was before. This evening it cleared enough to make the air fairly breathable, and the western sky was decorated by lots of fluffy pink clouds. Unfortunately, the air also feels a bit humid, and with the clouds hanging about this suggests that there might be more thunderstorms. That's exactly what we don't need. This year, more lightning almost certainly would mean more fires. There are still too many of the last bunch that aren't under control yet. Stay away, lightning!

Two of the feral (or wandering) cats who've been hanging around visited the back yard together this evening. They were out there for half an hour at the least. As the pair of them get along so well together, I'm wondering if they aren't now a mating pair. I can't get close enough to either of them to determine their sex. Maybe I'll go out one day to discover a litter of kittens in the garden shed. Oh, dear. What would I do then?

The water reeks of chlorine. That happens in dry years when the reservoirs get low.

Speaking of reservoirs, how about reservoirs of talent? Here's something YouTubular. Just click. You won't get hosed (or RickRolled), but you'll find some very cool Waters.
