Sans Sushi
Aug. 22nd, 2008 10:45 pmFriday shopping. It was too hot for shopping. It was too hot to cook. Sandwich.
Clouds hugged the mountains all afternoon, and they turned orange at sunset, making me crave sherbet. Sherbet had not been on my shopping list. I made do with a tangerine frozen fruit bar.
Then I opened a book and it devoured four hours. Oh, Jane Austen, reaching out from the grave to make me lose track of time!
In lieu of a real post, Jo Stafford's 1960 recording of the Ellington-Strayhorn-La Touch jazz standard Daydream— not quite as good as the Ella Fitzgerald version, but very nearly.
