This was the first day of the season when the wind came from the north all afternoon. When gusty winds blow from the north so early in the day, it's definitely autumn. Dry oak leaves now skitter along the street with every gust, and the dogwood leaves are turning darker. Most tellingly, the weekend highs will be in the sixties, and the lows will be in the forties. Brrr! Time to dig out the sweaters.

It looks to me as though the decorators of the restaurant in this photo, in L.A.'s Little Tokyo neighborhood, might have taken their inspiration from Terry Gilliam's movie "Brazil".

Being kept busy again. Two appointments next week, too, for tooth scraping and neck yanking. And every day shorter!
