Sunlight woke me early this afternoon. The storm wasn't over, but the clouds were breaking up. We even had some sun showers. Though the air was chilly, it looked almost like a spring day, with fluffy mounds of white cloud gleaming in bright sunlight that seemed dazzling after several days of gray skies. Squirrels came out to frolic, and the birds were chirping as though dawn had come late. The forecast predicts more partly cloudy days, and there have been a few showers since sunset, but I think the serious rain will not be back for a while, at least. I had a sandwich for dinner.

Can't think of anything else interesting that happened today.

Well, aside from that whole election thing, of course. So far, none of my Republican neighbors have run into the street rending their garments and gnashing their teeth, so my guess is they'll adjust to it. None of them had even put lawn signs out this time, and maybe they weren't all that invested in it anyway, so I'm not expecting to hear any soft weeping in the night. On the other hand, maybe they've all fainted dead away, or perhaps they've already sealed themselves in their secret, negro-proof bunkers. Well, whatever. I'm just glad I won't have to be flipping channels all the time to avoid seeing those stupid campaign ads anymore. It's back to avoiding Axe Body Spray ads now. Plus ça change, I suppose.
