Blow

Nothing disturbed my sleep, but when I woke today I found that wind had blown down the broken part of the back fence again, and had even knocked over one of my potted jade plants— a very heavy item with not much for the wind to blow against. It must have been some impressive wind. I guess the reason I didn't hear it blowing is because all the leaves are gone from the mulberry tree, so there wasn't much for the wind to make noise with. It had gotten breezy late last night, but I missed the biggest part of the windstorm. Too bad. I like a nice windstorm— as long as it doesn't knock any trees onto the house.

Tonight the full moon rose above an utterly serene forest. I'm not particularly serene myself, as the wind has apparently stirred up stuff that's making me sneeze. But the next couple of days will be placid and mild, so the air will settle and my nose will probably quit misbehaving. It's a bit early for a false spring, though. I'm hoping for an early return of wintry conditions. So far there's been nowhere near enough rain to please me.
