I forgot to close the windows before going to sleep this morning, and by the time I woke up this afternoon it was ovenish. Recourse to the air conditioner was subsequently had, but only for a couple of hours. Now the outdoors had cooled enough that I can open the windows and let the night air resume the chilling at no charge. Suck on that, PG&E!
Most of the young foxtails are gone from the back yard. I might have missed a few hiding among the poppies, but I'll get them as soon as they're tall enough to see. It's astonishing how many there were. It took a couiple of hours of pulling, over several days. If they're growing as thickly elsewhere as they were in my yard, this is going to be a bad year for kitties who wander the fields. They'll have more foxtails than fur by summer's end.
But, look! A meme! I haven't done one of those in ages! And it automatically posts your answer to your journal! I wonder when they come up with that clever scheme? I wonder if it will actually work? Here goes...

In fact, I don't show up until the bottom of page two of Google results. Plus Facebook says 56 people on their site match my name. If I sign up, I'll be #57. If I wait longer, maybe I can bee #100.
