Not There

I've got an enormous bag of kitty food. At K-mart's price it comes out to about eighty cents a pound. I don't think that even all the kitties put together would eat much more than three quarters of a pound a day, so I'm probably looking at about twenty dollars a month to keep feeding them. Then they won't break into my house as I sleep and rip me to shreds with their sharp little claws and teeth. Totally worth it. It's less than I spend on beer.

Today the light had a quality I associate with summer's decline. It was as though the light had been filtered through haze even though the air was clear. This made my eyes feel dried out and made me wish I could go to the beach. Won't happen, of course.
