Rain failed to arrive again, but the drifting gray clouds were nice to watch. Several large flocks of waterfowl passed this evening, either forecasting an early spring, or making trouble for themselves should winter return. The back lawn is full of tiny white flowers on long, thin stalks. I have no idea what they are. The patches of sourgrass which have colonized the back yard are covered with little purple blossoms, too. I expect camellias to emerge momentarily. For now the yard is pleasantly green, but I don't know what we'll do for water when summer comes, the snow pack is so paltry this year. I suppose there'll be rationing. Then everybody else will have a lawn as brown as mine always is. Hey, I'm a trend-setter.
