Ah, California, where the streets are paved with gold! Unfortunately, this month the gold is pine pollen. Now that the sun has returned and there is no longer rain washing the pollen away, the fine layer of gold is all over everything. If I leave a window open there will soon be a layer of pollen collected on the sill. It's no wonder I haven't gone five minutes without sneezing all day. I sneeze and water and sneeze, and I don't even get much summer shade out of the deal since the pines are too far from my house. I get the sneezes and my neighbors get the shade. I wish I could spend May at the beach.
