Bummertime
Jul. 2nd, 2010 12:05 amThe sun is going to make a nuisance of itself again. After a couple of milder days, it's going to be nudging 100 again early next week. Well, July, I suppose. I've managed to put off the first use of the air conditioner clear through June, but I don't know how much longer I can defer it.
I'll hide in the house all day and only emerge at dusk, but eventually the nights will heat up too, and I'll be forced to choose between living in a dark, dusty sweat lodge, or spending a small fortune on electricity. I should have saved some of the snow that fell last winter.
On the other hand, today I sliced open the first watermelon of the year. Not bad, but not a juicy as I'd have liked. If the hotter weather doesn't bring tastier watermelons I'll be seriously bummed.
