It's off to the dentist for the coronation of the molar. They usually don't numb the tooth for this procedure, and this tooth has been so sensitive that I'm expecting it to be very unpleasant. Fitting the crown and adjusting the bite invariably involves cutting the crown down a bit. There's grinding involved. If it's too painful, I suppose they'll have to use some Novocaine, but that would extend the process by fifteen or twenty minutes at least. Plus getting jabbed by needles yet again is not a pleasant prospect. Numbed or not, I'll be glad when this is over. One again I say stupid tooth!

UpdateThe dental work was less unpleasant than I'd feared. No numbing was needed, though there were some uncomfortable moments. The new crown is on, and fits well enough. My gums will probably be sore for a couple of days, but I'm not anticipating any longer term problems with this tooth. Phew. Now, on to spring allergies.
