A rising wind is blowing the handful of leaves that haven't been raked along the street with a rattling rush. Orion is bright above, as the moon's waning crescent is nowhere in sight. I'd hang around outside if it weren't so cold tonight. It would be an excellent night for watching the stars, with a sound track of moaning pine trees to help set the mood. But I'd rather be sitting in the house with a purring cat on my lap. The Winter Solstice is here. I'll go out for the summer solstice.
