Spring -2

So it snowed twice today, and the snow melted away twice even though the ground was entirely covered each time. The first fall accompanied the dawn, and the second arrived when I went shopping, so I got to go into Safeway covered with big, fluffy snowflakes, then get back into the car covered with more. Of course the snow ended as soon as I got home, by which time the pines were white.

Now the trees are back to their normal green, but the tumbling sky could bring more snow to turn them into ghosts of themselves again. I'll be indoors with hot cocoa and brownies, and a big pile of blankets, wondering why winter waited until two days before the vernal equinox to drop snow.
