Fruity

This afternoon there was another one of those late naps that delayed my dinner, and now I'm not even very hungry. Maybe I'll just finish off the week's supply of fruit, since tomorrow is shopping day. Fruit is getting more expensive, though, and the quality is declining, so I probably won't get as much this week. Summer's end has its drawbacks.

But that cool breeze coming in my window is no drawback. Had it been this cool this afternoon, I probably wouldn't have had that nap, and right now I'd be finishing off my macaroni and cheese. Instead I'm going to be slicing watermelon, to Portia's great disappointment. Maybe I'll give her the bowl of half and half she'd have gotten if I'd baked the macaroni. And, on the bright side, I'm going to save a bottle of beer. Beer doesn't go well with fruit, I've found.

Less than half a moon tonight. Half a moon is better than none.
