May. 2nd, 2013 11:32 pmThe mosquitoes have arrived and used me as a buffet while I was watering the plants this evening. I'm sure I can spare the blood, but I'd rather not itch wherever the bugs drilled into me to get it. Later, raccoons came and ate the food I'd put out for the feral cats. If only raccoons would eat mosquitoes instead of cat food, life would be so much easier.
Microwaved bean and cheese burritos for dinner, as I didn't want to use the real oven to heat them. The house got hot today, and now I have to cool it off by having the windows open. I need to get some duct tape to put on holes in a couple of the screens or the mosquitoes will be coming into the house all night.
I think I'll go outside for a while to get cooler, even though I know I'll probably get more bites. They make stuff I could spray on myself to make me unappetizing to mosquitoes, but I'm allergic to most stuff that goes on my skin. It comes down to whether I want to itch for free from bites or pay to itch with some chemical from a spray can. I'll settle for the free bites.
