The warm day brought out the lawn mowers, the dust blowers, the power hedge clippers, and such. It would have been a nice afternoon to sit outside listening to birds chirping and bees buzzing and leaves rustling in soft, warm breezes, but for the frequent outbursts of racket from the apparatus of the suburban landscape police. Eventually I just went indoors and watched television, and ended up falling asleep on the couch yet again.

There was only an hour of daylight left when I finally woke up, so I went back out and got some plants watered and the feral cats fed, then pulled up a few more foxtails, but then I was too tired to make dinner. I have less energy every year. I have stuff for a sandwich, so I'll probably eat that instead of doing any actual cooking. If a day in the low eighties leaves me this lethargic, I wonder what tomorrow will do to me when it tops ninety degrees?

Right now, maybe a shower will make my brain a bit more nimble.
