The crescent moon set not long after dusk, and the night sky, where free of the thin clouds that have hovered about since yesterday, shows a sprinkling of summer stars. The cool nights continue, and if I go out near morning I wear a sweater. The evenings are shirtsleeve friendly, though, and watching stars in the cool air is pleasant. The early setting of the moon will be a good thing for the next few nights, as the Perseid Meteor Shower will be peaking Monday morning, and there could be quite a few meteors even tonight. I'm going out to watch the sky for a while right now.
