Belabor Day

There was more rain than I'd expected from the storm, though most of it fell as drizzle or brief showers. There surely wasn't enough to turn the lawn green again, but there was enough that I didn't have to water anything today. The clouds kept the air fairly cool, but the damp made it muggy. The rain also failed to drown the cicadas. Tonight they sound as though they're making up for the buzzing time they lost during the storm. The buzzing is so loud that it's practically making my fillings rattle.

Right now I'm smelling skunk. Maybe I should go out and check on the feral cats' food bowls. They've already been raided by a raccoon tonight. I don't want them losing still more food to a skunk. I'd better do that before I sit down in front of the television, too, or I'll fall asleep and forget to do it altogether.

There was something else I was going to write about, but my pre-Alzehimer's condition won't let me remember it. Ah, well. Tomorrow I'll have forgotten that I forgot anything, and maybe I'll remember it then and think it's new.
