Any week now there should be a day in the 70s and a night in the 50s. I've been waiting such a long time for it, I hope it comes soon. I'm looking forward to sleeping under blankets again, and to baking things in the oven. It's hard to remember what brownies taste like.
The back porch light burned out a couple of nights ago, and I keep forgetting to change the bulb. It involves climbing onto a sink board and reaching up to the rafters. I was never good with climbing, and I get worse at it every year. There's a hazard of slipping into the sink if I lose my footing, not to mention the hazard of plunging off of the perch altogether and damaging the porch. There's no point in trying to do it at night, but every day I forget that the bulb has burned out, remembering only when I turn the light on at nightfall and the darkness remains. Stiff joints, failing coordination and a bad memory are an annoying combination.
There's a movie coming on I want to see. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to afford cable, and once it's gone I'm unlikely to ever get it back, so I want to take advantage of it while it's still there.
