Eclipse Night!
Apr. 14th, 2014 07:20 pmI've got the chaise lounge placed and the beer ready. The frogs will soon be croaking and the moon will rise behind the thick stand of pine trees to the east of my house, but it should clear them before the penumbral portion of the eclipse begins (the moon actualy brightens during the penumbral period, before the moon enters the umbra and after it leaves.) Here are the times for the Pacific Daylight Time zone:
Penumbral Begins: 9:54 pm
Partial Begins: 10:58 pm
Total Begins: 12:07 am
Mid-Eclipse: 12:47 am
Total Ends: 1:25 am
Partial Ends: 2:33 am
Penumbral Ends: 3:38 am.
Also, I must remember to put the wheelie bins out, as tonight is not only eclipse night but trash night here. Everything happens at once!
