Mild

Thanks to cool air and plenty of clouds, the soil is still damp even though the recent storm wasn't very heavy and is long gone. There's a good chance I won't have to do any more watering of the yard this year. That should knock a good ten dollars a month off of the water bill and help offset the inevitable rise in the gas bill.

As of right now I'm probably a bit better off than I was last year at this time. If nothing unexpected comes up I'll probably get the second installment of the taxes paid in January instead of February. If November and December are milder than they were last year I might even have bit extra to splurge with. Maybe I can get some new shoes during the after Christmas sales.

It's been such a relief to have some cool weather that I'm in a pretty good mood despite not having had enough sleep lately. I might get to sleep more tonight, if Portia doesn't decide to wake me up before the crack of dawn the way she did today.

Rain is still predicted for Thursday and Saturday, though no longer for Friday. That will be handy in case I decide to shop on Friday this week. I do dislike running through parking lots and getting wet anyway.
