The arrival of a few clouds gave us a fairly decent sunset tonight, but the red sky just reminded me how hot it is. Right now, going on nine o'clock, it is still eighty degrees outside. I've had the air conditioner on since seven o'clock this evening, and it looks like it will be on at least half the night. The long range forecast is predicting a day with a high of 79 late next week, but I suspect it of blowing smoke. If it does happen, it will be cause for great celebration. I intend to have pie on hand, just in case.
I probably won't be able to get to the store tomorrow, so I'll miss a couple of bargains I'd like to get which won't be available on Sunday. But Sunday is supposed to be a bit cooler than tomorrow, and a couple of the bargains are quite arse-fattening anyway, so maybe it's for the best. It's not like I'm going to run out of anything I need, since I have English muffins that I can substitute for bread (speaking of arse-fattening.)
There was some sort of rash on my right wrist earlier this evening, but it has faded away now. I have no idea what it was, but I suspect it was either heat-related or cat-related. I'm glad it's almost gone, but the heat still has my brain in sloth mode, air conditioner or not, so I'm going to go outside and see if there's enough of a breeze yet to wake it up. If not I'll just come back in and watch undemanding television for a while.
