So I got my head yanked about this afternoon, and it was pretty stiff but finally moved okay. After a difficult adjustment I usually don't feel like doing much of anything for a day or two, so the leaf-raking I'd considered doing tomorrow (were I to wake up and get started on it before the day got too hot) is probably off. I don't feel like eating much, either, so I'll probably just have some soup and a bolillo roll I picked up at Safeway on my way home and then fall asleep in front of the television.
About midday today I smelled a skunk, and I'm smelling skunk again right now. It's always a bad sign to smell skunk by daylight. They are nocturnal animals and when out by day are usually sick, frequently with rabies. All my feral cats have had rabies shots, but no boosters, so I hope they don't run across a rabid skunk. I'm sure they'd have the sense to avoid a skunk, but it might go after them.
Summer officially ends in less than four hours, and I'm not sad to see it go. But get back to me in February when I'm freezing my arse off and looking at $180+ utility bills, and maybe I'll feel differently.
