My Internets connection is giving trouble again, despite the removal of the offending (according to the AT&T tech I spoke to a few days ago) DSL filter. I now think perhaps the recovery, now shown to have been temporary, that resulted from its removal was coincidence. The service failures have mostly coincided with rain, and the rain eased up while I was on the phone with the tech guy. The respite from problems Friday and Saturday might have been due to the lack of rain Friday and the moderateness of the rain Saturday. Today the storm is intense, and there have been several downpours, and the connection has been very unstable. I suspect that my original surmise that it is the beating AT&T's outdoor infrastructure has been taking from the storms that is at fault.

But I don't want to deal with AT&T support today. I just want to get this done. It will have to be short, though, because the computer is being cranky too. Using a cranky computer with an unreliable Internet connection is exhausting. I just hope that I don't lose my electricity, as this storm is also a bit windy, and many trees are probably losing their grip on the soil due to its saturation. One or more could easily come down and take out a power line, and PG&E's response is apt to be slow in such weather due to the likelihood of multiple such incidents. I want to use my electric oven. There is a frozen lasagna begging to be heated and eaten.

And there are English people (though probably not killing each other) on television tonight (yes, Downton Abbey.) It's usually better when they do kill each other, but I'll make do with what I can get. As long as they're English and have entertaining eccentricities. I can see Americans, on television or in reality, anytime I want. Tonight I want English people and lasagna. Please cooperate, PG&E.
