Waiting

It began drizzling a while ago, so I don't know how long it will be before my Internet connection starts cutting out, so I'd better post something now. I have a pizza on the way and it should be here shortly, so I'll have to be brief (how often does that happen?)

The overcast was lovely all day, with soft light and cool, still air, and once in a while we were treated to a bit of mist. The damp accumulated on the leaves and eventually began to drip, so the sound of rain arrived before the rain itself did. I'll have to keep this afternoon in my memory so I can dwell on it nostalgically when the summer heat is cooking my brain.

Portia is pestering me. I'm going to feed her when the pizza arrives, so she won't be pestering me while I eat. I'll save her a couple of slices of pepperoni. She is one of those cats who likes pepperoni. Weird.

Oh, there's the delivery guy.
