Water

This evening I watered the back yard, but I'm thinking maybe I should water the gardenia bush in the front yard as well. I can smell the scent of the flowers floating on the cool evening air and wafting through my window, and such a gift deserves a reward. Dinner can wait. I'll go out and inhale the sweet fragrance up close while the water trickles down, glittering in the light of the stars and the half moon. The white flowers will reflect the light, too, and the running water will be the only sound in the still night air.
