All the clouds that appeared yesterday afternoon had vanished by midday today. I don't know where the rain tomorrow is supposed to come from if there are no clouds. Maybe it won't come after all. But it was mild enough today that I was able to have the windows open for a few hours. The house got down to 62 degrees last night, and I was hoping that I'd be able to get it back up to at least 68 today, to stave off the moment when I'll have to turn on the furnace, but it didn't happen. It only got up to 66. It will most likely drop down to 60 in here tonight, which means I'll need the furnace to get the place warm enough for my shower tomorrow.

This afternoon my washing machine quit working. Some bath linens (actually cottons, but who says bath cottons) and such were in it when the agitation mechanism failed. The nephew thinks it's probably a belt, and if so will try to find a replacement online and fix it himself. I usually only wash once a week, so there's plenty of time. In the meantime my sister came and fetched my laundry and washed it at her place, and brought it back for drying. So far I'm not out any cash, and with luck the replacement part will not be too costly. I have an extra bill this month (trash bill comes every three months and runs about 73 bucks) plus there are five shopping Sundays, and I'm still a bit short for the first installment of the property taxes, so every bit of savings helps.

There was something else I was going to write about, but it totally slipped my mind. Probably of no importance whatsoever, so I won't worry about it. I'm lucky to be able to think at all these days.
