Early today we had rain with occasional snow flurries, but the snow didn't stick. Though it has remained gray all day the sky has failed to release any more of its horded water since early afternoon. Whether it will get more generous tonight is anybody's guess, but if it does then we might see some actual snow on the ground by tomorrow morning. I won't be holding my breath.

I woke up in time to see most of the Rose Parade and get my annual dose of Pasadena nostalgia this morning. I didn't bother with the game, but then I never did. I just looked out at my snowless yard and wished I had a Pasadena hamburger or taco or teriyaki or barbecue or.... Food was so much more interesting in Pasadena than it is here. Surely I deserve at least a bit of snow to make up for that?

Shopping on Friday has thrown my internal calendar off. I keep thinking it's the middle of the week already, but the week is only getting started. The long, cold, gray, damp week. Well, maybe I'll get to see more of the woodpeckers. They were very active today, and about the only things that were. I certainly wasn't.

The laptop has not yet been replaced, and so my neck is getting sore and I should give it a rest. Maybe the new desktop can be installed tomorrow. I don't feel like doing anything more tonight except eating some dull local food. Then sleep will probably insist on coming early, as I didn't get much of it last night. I might be asleep right now, in fact, and only dreaming that I'm writing a journal entry. Meh. I'll find out tomorrow.
