Exhaustion
Jan. 25th, 2017 10:43 pmI've been spending way too much time reading lately, and I blame the Internet. There's just way too much stuff on it. Even if I ignore the total crap and concentrate on the good stuff, there's just not enough time to see it all. That leaves me feeling like a hopeless slacker when I finally have to go do something else, such as eat so I can stay alive long enough to read still more, or when I get so tired of reading that I have to go watch foolish stuff on television.
But Ecclesiastes: The words of the wise are as goads; and as nails well fastened are the words of the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd. And furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ah, that's better. A famous book tells me it's okay to stop reading and watch television. Goodnight, Internets.
