Reset Forty-Three, Day Seven

rejectomorphFriday might have been the most exciting day I've had in long time, but it wasn't. I have no idea why, other than me spending all my time staring at a computer screen and not doing much else. For all I know, Friday did its best to be exciting, but I did nothing to help it, so it failed. Something kept making me sneeze, and I went through half a box of tissues blowing my nose, but that suddenly stopped about midnight and since then I've just been bored. It's really sad to miss sneezing. What's even sadder is that at some point in the afternoon a fly got in the apartment and then it too vanished around midnight, and now I miss it too.
It has gotten delightfully cool outside tonight, but the forecast for the next two weeks predicts a string of hotter nights following days with triple digit highs. Despite this, some possibility remains that I will survive August. Grapes, after all, and currently I have two artichokes that I keep forgetting to cook, but today I'm leaving myself a note in a prominent place, and I will probably eat one tonight. Battling an artichoke and triumphing over it always gives me a sense of well-being for a while. I will devour its heart the way time is devouring my mind. Winner winner artichoke dinner.
