Reset Forty-One, Day Nine
Jun. 2nd, 2022 06:07 amShort of sleep Wednesday, I took an afternoon nap and didn't wake up until eleven that evening. Dinner thus waited until after midnight, when I baked frozen lasagna and fixed some garlic toast, which I burned, which set off the smoke alarm, which left my ears ringing even after it stopped, but aside from that the dinner was a nice change from the sandwiches I've been eating lately. The nap also brought my total sleep for the day to more than ten hours, so I ought to be well rested. We shall see.
Today is supposed to bring the peak of the current heat wave, at 93 degrees. There will be a respite over the weekend, with highs in the mere seventies, and even a 58% chance of showers on Sunday. After that it gets bad fast, and from the tenth through the thirteenth are four days with triple digit highs bracketed by six days in the nineties, and probably more of the same after that, but those days don't show up in the forecast yet. So summer awfulness is almost here. I don't count on surviving it.
Oh, great. I had my phone plugged in recharging in the other room, I thought. I just tried to load a video and failed and found out I was offline. The damned cable had fallen out of the jack on the phone because I didn't make sure it was in properly. Now I have to wait until I get enough juice in the phone to reconnect to the Internet. I was hoping to get to sleep before the sun got too bright, but that won't happen now.
How annoying. This is why I can't have nice things.
