Reset Forty-Eight, Day Seven
Feb. 21st, 2023 06:07 amThe mildness of Monday's weather didn't stop the day from being rather morose. Well, no, I don't suppose the day itself was morose. I was. To counteract it I fixed my second artichoke and opened a bottle of Guinness. An afternoon nap in the sunlight also helped for a while, but after the sun went down I needed cheering up again, so I heated my fancy Asian frozen foods for dinner. That was good for a while, but as I'm sure everyone knows, an hour after you eat Asian food you're depressed again. The second beer made me sleepy, so there was another nap, and when I woke up Monday was over. Now it is Fat Tuesday, and I'm still morose. A snack of chips and dip and another beer helped out, but I wonder why I'm getting so fat? In fact I'm probably fatter than Tuesday.
Now I hear the trash truck out front. Sun will come up in less than an hour. I should get to bed. Meanwhile, I'm cheering myself up with music, since more beer is probably not a good idea. Here is a nice mostly solo bass piece by Charles Berthoud, with just a hint of synthesized strings in the background. I really like the song, though the title is a bit ominous: "The Last Ride"
