Reset Forty-Eight, Day Nine

Weather whiplash is probably a factor in the various intensified physical discomforts and irritations I've been enduring since waking Thursday morning. It's been at least fifteen degrees cooler for the last several hours than it was twenty four hours earlier. Even with the furnace running more often, this place just feels colder. The concrete slab floor is a likely contributor, and the increasing damp certainly hasn't helped. Having more blanket weight on me is also a likely source of discomfort. Altogether, I've had more aches and pains for the last several hours than over the previous week. I do not recommend getting old.

On a more positive note, this week's sale at Safeway has some good deals, so at least I'll have something to eat while freezing in agony. And a lot of it is stuff that can just be heated up, so I won't have to stand around cooking. As for the near term, the storm that hasn't arrived yet is expected to be one of the coldest yet this year and the snow level could drop to about 1000 feet. Paradise could get a few inches, but Chico shouldn't get any. Definitely old guy rheumatism weather, though. I'll probably sleep through as much of it as possible. The overcast should help, though I'll miss my afternoon sun patch naps. Strange how light doesn't keep me awake that time of day.
