Reset Forty-Eight, Day Eighteen
Mar. 4th, 2023 04:35 amIt's only been a bit over four hours since my last Friday nap ended, and I'm already nodding off. It was about a six or seven hour nap, too, so I ought to be rested. But I'm obviously not. Also shin splints. How I got shin splints while not being active I don't know, but that's what it feels like. Also indigestion. A delicious, indigestible sandwich for dinner. No desert. I keep thinking about apple pie with brandy sauce, but I don't dare buy an entire pie and don't know any place that sells single slices. One of the markets here does sell half pies, and I might try that. I don't know when. Whens no longer have any grasp on my mind.
It's not as cold tonight as it has been lately, and there is supposed to be rain later, and then a respite followed by more rain overnight. Most interesting is the long range forecast, which shows chances of showers ranging from 31% to 58% every day for the next twelve days. March could prove to be an interesting month. Temperatures should remain fairly mild, in the valley at least, but there's a likelihood of yet more snow in the mountains. Many of California's reservoirs could be full this summer for the first time in about four years. Wildflower season could also be quite spectacular. I probably won't get out to see any of it.
Still quite noddy. I'll have to get to sleep soon. I don't think there's be time for a snack. It would just aggravate my indigestion anyway. In lieu of a snack I'll just listen to a bit more music. Here is a 1967 recording by Van Dyke Parks, which may be the most astonishing piece of music that hardly anybody has ever heard.
