Reset Forty-Eight, Day Thirty-Five
Mar. 31st, 2023 05:30 amBoth of the packages of stuff I ordered from Kohl's arrived Thursday, one a day late and the other a day early. Most of the stuff will probably workout okay, though the sizes are not exactly right (ordering online.) Since I'll just be wearing the stuff around the house that's not a big deal, except for the pair of slippers I ordered. They will be a bit too tight, until (and unless) my foot swelling goes down a bit more. But I'm not bothering to return anything.
The other major event of the day was that I made a very large and quite good pot of chili, and ate a big bowl of it which, not surprisingly, has brought on indigestion and acid reflux, which was totally worth it (did I mention it was really good chili?) There are at leas two more servings in the refrigerator, so the experience will be repeated soon. Yay? I guess.
Arrangements are made for the fetching of groceries this evening, though I haven't gotten around to ordering them yet, which I'd intended to do overnight. I got distracted again, though I don't remember by what. I guess I'll do the ordering now, as quickly as I can, and hope it doesn't keep me awake too late. Where the hell does the time go, when I'm really not doing a damned thing?
Predictions of rain other than showers this Sunday have vanished from the long-range forecast. Californians should heave sighs of relief, but I can't help but be a bit sad. I'd grown so accustomed to the weepy sky and the gray days, and I think I'll genuinely miss them. Of course I didn't have to go out in them, so it was easy enough for me. But it now looks like we won't be having a rainy spring after all. Just a floody one, as the Sierra snowpack melts. I don't expect the mini-metropolis to be among the flooded places, so again I'm likely to be unaffected. I should even get lower utility bills out of the deal as the weather warms up. Great luck.
