Reset Forty-Eight, Day Thirty-Eight
Apr. 3rd, 2023 03:59 amI got through Sunday with a lot of sleep, including an early afternoon nap that merged almost seamlessly into a late afternoon nap, and when I woke up I was greeted with a brief but fierce evening rainstorm that straddled the sunset. I managed to eat a mild and modest dinner that so far hasn't triggered any acid reflux, and I've confined my nocturnal snacking to a couple of slices of buttered sourdough bread and a couple of Medjool dates. Maybe I'm out of the woods and my stomach won't digest my esophagus and then itself after all.
The rain is gone for now, and no more is predicted until next Thursday, but it will continue to be cool, and local growers are even getting a frost warning for tonight. One week from today a sudden rise in temperature is predicted, with a high of 77. Not unheard of for April, and it's been a mostly chilly winter, so it will be a nice change. I do fear I'll get blasted with pollen though. The first big dose of the season always seems to be truly awful. Inside very silver lining, there's a big, black cloud.
Something tells me there will be a lot more sleeping today, indigestion or not. My energy never lasts very long anymore. Somehow being comatose so much of the time doesn't bother me. If I'm going to do nothing I might as well not do it while I'm asleep. As long as I can listen to music while I'm awake I'm fine. Here's something I hadn't listened to for ages and lately stumbled upon. From sometime around 1959 (I'm too lazy to Google for certainty) by Johnny Mathis, and boy does this one dredge up some adolescent memories (juke box at Leo's ice cream parlor. Did that world really exist? I guess so, but not for much longer.)
