Reset Forty-Nine, Day Fifty-Two
Jul. 15th, 2023 09:18 amThe sleep schedule-related inexplicableness continues, with Friday ending with an extended nap of about six (or was it eight) hours, intermittently interrupted by periods of rather unpleasant wakefulness, along with a couple of outbursts of unexplainable laughter, all of which culminated in a sudden, unexpected wide-awakeness just before six o'clock this morning. I expected things to get weird with dementia's onset, but I wasn't expecting to go actually crazy. Nevertheless, that's what it feels like is happening.
I'm sure it isn't helping that it's already 81 fecking degrees here this morning, heading for 107. Could be worse, of course (and probably will be somewhere down the road.) A report from Scientific American says that Death Valley could hit a high of 130 this weekend, setting an all-time global record for a verified high temperature. Yay? Will there be a prize? For any survivors?
I ate my breakfast donut, and ought to eat some actual breakfast, as it's going to be a long day, but I don't feel like eating. I feel like drinking something very cold. Maybe I will. Or maybe just melt on the spot.
