Reset Forty-Nine, Day Seventy-Seven
Aug. 9th, 2023 05:57 amBig dinner Tuesday, which turned out okay, and didn't make me anywhere near as logy as I'd expected. More recently I've been astonished at how sore my legs feel. I'm not sure what brought it on, but it might have been overindulgence in ice cream. I bought a carton of malted milk flavor ice cream, of a brand which I've never had before, and I might have gotten a bit carried away with it. Well, I ate two bowls, so I know I got carried away with it. Large amounts of sugar make me feel quite crappy anymore, so I'll have to knock that off. But it was really tasty.
The good news is I didn't let my phone battery run dry tonight. I happened to notice it when it was down to 10% and plugged it in. Noticing it was sheer luck, but I'm going to congratulate myself for it anyway, because I really need this undeserved win. I've been screwing up so much stuff lately, and a non-screwing feels like a gift.
One thing I did screw up tonight was forgetting to open the windows and turn on the fan, so there's still a lot of heat in the apartment even though it was ales hot day and has ben a fairly cool night. I finally got it done about half past four, and it's down about three degrees so far. I'd like it down three more, but I need to get to sleep and can't wait, so I'll have to do the rest with air conditioning. I'll probably skip my square of chocolate tonight. Punishment for eating too much ice cream.
My carelessness with the computer mouse was rewarded by another serendipitous event a while ago. I accidentally clicked at the wrong time on YouTube, and a video came up that turned out to be one of the best choral renditions of the traditional song "Shenandoah" that I've ever heard. It's by the University of North Texas A Capella Choir. Very highly recommended.
