Reset Forty-Nine, Day Ninety
Aug. 22nd, 2023 10:23 amRainy Monday morning I had a hard time getting to sleep, then didn't wake up until after five o'clock in the evening, by which time the rain had ended and the clouds partly scattered. The mail carrier brought a power bill, which was a bit of spare change less than seventy dollars, a pleasant surprised given how much the air conditioner has run during the last month. Instead of dinner I munched on chips, something I've done too frequently of late, and then I went back to sleep.
I woke up around two o'clock this morning and fixed the pancakes I had not gotten around to making Friday morning, and they were tasty but conducive to the acid reflux again. I've taken antacid and, once I'm sure it has taken effect, I intend to sleep some more. It will be warmer today, of course. But not as warm as the rest of the week. Or next week. Or the week after that. Damn it's still summer. The one day of displaced spring was nice. Too bad it can't last.
I got stupid again this morning and let my phone battery run down and thus lost Idernet yet again. That's why this post is so late. Luckily I had loaded a couple of nice YouTube videos into the browser earlier, and I was able to listen to those while waiting to get reconnected. One in particular was very nice to repeat several times. It's the traditional Irish song "Carolan's Dream" played on Celtic harp by Mark Harmer, and it is the very definition of soothing:
