Friday's grocery stress was so intense that I ended up taking not one but two long naps, one of which used up virtually the entire afternoon and the other a good half of the night. I was sufficiently disorganized during the grocery delivery event that I forgot to put away a pint of cream, which consequently sat out until after the afternoon nap, meaning dusk. I do hope it won't spoil. I bought some strawberries and intend to make strawberries and whipped cream on waffles.

I found that one of the blankets I bought recently is almost a thin comforter (it was advertised as being made with a "down alternative") and was actually quite warm during my naps, though very lightweight. I suspect that it manages this feat by not breathing very well, as I woke up feeling a bit sweaty. It will be handy for keeping the other blankets warm if we get some really cold nights. So far December has been milder than usual, but it might be returning to form in a week or so. Some showers are predicted starting a week from today, and colder nights. Today's high will be only in the fifties, but Sunday returns to the sixties. I'll be saving a bit on gas for the furnace for a few more days.

I'm sure there was something I was going to do tonight but it kept slipping my mind and now I'd be too tired to do it even if I could remember it. Oh well. Me being a stupid old guy now, I expect I'll get some slack. The ultimate senior discount is when people discount your competence. In my case at least it's probably entirely justified. Half the dust in this apartment is probably dead brain cells. I suspect they come out by the millions whenever I sneeze. I sneeze a lot these days.
