Sunday I broke out one of my frozen lasagnas for dinner, and it was a very nice change from actually cooking stuff myself. That was the good part of the day. The bad part (which has been going on for hours) is that my neck has gotten about as bad as it's ever been in my life. Right now it's aching like a sonofabitch, and I have no idea how I'll ever get to sleep tonight. I might have to take ibuprofen, which I hate to do, due to the (in particular) gut-related side effects.
If this keeps up I'll finally be forced to find a chiropractor. I haven't had an adjustment in five years, and I'm sure my aging bones have grown more brittle over that time, so I don't know what I should expect. Plus I'll have to do all that new patient stuff, filling out forms and crap, and I have no idea where my Medicare card is, so I might have to wait until I can get a replacement. My ducks, in short, assuming I even have any, are not in a row. They are in fact scattered all to hell and gone, just like the brain that was supposed to keep track of them.
There's an outside chance I'll be able to relax myself out of the pain if I lie abed quietly for a while, which is what I intend to do next. This used to work now and then, so it's worth a shot. The relaxation method works better on headache than it does on neck pain though. I'll just have to go see. Unfortunately, my feet have chosen tonight to get in to one of their itchy moods, and it's difficult as hell to stay relaxed when you are twisting about in bed scratching a lower appendage.
Enough of this gibberjabber. I need to get started on relaxing, and that ain't gonna happen in front of a monitor.
