Reset Fifty, Day Seven
Jul. 18th, 2024 05:40 amA bunch of laundry got done, and it appears that I was the one who did it, but I don't remember for sure if it got done Tuesday or Wednesday. The memory seems too fresh to be from Tuesday, but these days I can't be sure. My brain has been boiled in its own juices this summer, and I no longer trust it very much. But it was most likely Wednesday when I did laundry, and got most of it done (three winter hoodies didn't fit in the machine and will wait for another laundry day.) The laundered things are not yet put away though, as the closet remains catawampus until the drywall disarranged by the plumbers has been repaired, and that waits until after the building inspector has looked at the plumbing work, which is scheduled for...today! Hopefully the inspector will get here soon and get out fast, and will find no flaws needing further work. If this is the case I might get my closet, at least, back to normal sometime next week.
When, if ever, normal gets back to being less than horrifying I can't say. Our couple of double digit high days are over and we are back to triples today and the rest of the week and beyond. Worse, the nights will be warmer again too. It went all the way down to 68 overnight last night, and the fan and windows have lowered the apartment to 74, and it might even get down to 73 before I have to close it up. It's actually quite pleasant here at the moment, and maybe I'll fix and eat last night's dinner before the inspector gets here. The dinosaurs have been happily chirping about dawn's arrival for the last hour, and that has almost put me into a good mood. It doesn't get better than this, anymore, alas.
