Reset Fifty, Day Thirty-Nine
Aug. 19th, 2024 04:42 amAnother Sunday with nothing happening, but a high of only 86, and it's headed down to 64 tonight. What a blessed relief it has been. It's going back up into the nineties today, but will be back down to a mere 62 overnight. I'm not fond of such radical diurnal ranges, but I won't look this gift horse in the mouth. And later in the week it gets even better. The high expected Friday is 75. Like seventy-five! That's a day worthy of September!
Sadly, I cooked to much diner and had some stuff left over that won't keep well, so it will have to go. Worse, I was rooting about in the refrigerator and found a package of wieners a full year past their use-by date. How the hell did that happen? Well, the refrigerator is stuffed, and I am no longer flexible enough to get down low, and my bad eyes don't see stuff back in those corners. Stuff that gets shoved way back is pretty much doomed. But I also found a few things nearing their use-by dates, so they will be saved, and I don't have to think about what I'll eat for the next few days. The lack of a proper storage system decided for me.
An annoying thing going on now (it's something new every few days anymore) is that I'm getting hand cramps. This isn't entirely new, but I haven't had any for a while, and these are more intense than those I've gotten in the past. Falling apart if annoying as hell. (I'd say its a pain in the ass, but I don't want to tempt fate. But then I guess I Just did. Oh, well. At least it will be a change.)
I might take a stab at getting groceries Friday. There won't be a lot I need, but a couple of things will be crucial, and I like to get other stuff out of the way whenever possible. And perhaps there will be good sale items at one store or another this week. We won't know until Wednesday. Right how its about time for me to go to sleep. The apartment is down of 74 degrees, and might even get a bit cooler. I'm bound to wake up to pee in a couple of hours, and can close the windows and turnoff the fan then. Oh, this just feels so luxurious!
