Sunday I put to rest with a sandwich, then slept myself, and spent the night with intermittent wakings when it took a few minutes to figure out where I was. When I did figure it out, it was always a disappointment. I didn't finally get up until about nine o'clock this morning. It's supposed to hit 100 degrees again today, but around ten o'clock I was sitting here with the window still open and heard sprinkles hitting the leaves of the pokeweed in the backyard. Though the forecast was for partly cloudy sky, there was no mention of rain, so that was a bit of a surprise. A pleasant one, even if too brief.

The forecast, with characteristic autumn unpredictability, has restored the coolish day of possible rain, but now it is predicted to be 77 degrees, and it's next Saturday. Everything else starting Tuesday is expected to be in the eighties. Since nights will continue to be cool, I'm sure I can deal with that. Odds of an October utility bill lower than the credit are looking better. I like a month when I don't have to send anything in. There's nothing to forget. This month I forgot to give my bill to my niece to mail after she brought my groceries, and that was a week ago last Friday. I just discovered the damned unsent envelope, so I'm going to text her and see if she can drop by and fetch it this evening. If it's late, I could have an October bill to send back even if the credit covers the actual bill, if I also have a late fee. Being a stupid old guy is stupid.

Some sort of lunch I think, and then maybe a nap. I don't much like this schedule I've been on lately. Or the yawns that cause my neck to cramp. Why does getting old bring on so much weirdness?
