Friday was devoured, leaving no trace. Thursday night I slept surprisingly well, and when morning came I was repeatedly lured back to sleep by the sound of rain. It continued for quite a while after I got up, then tapered off, but all I remember of the day was the persistent grayness. I returned to bed before nightfall and remained there, sleeping or not, until not long before dawn. I think that was the longest time I've spent in bed since the last time I was down with a flu. Despite being pretty much slept out now I keep yawning, and when I yawn I frequently do something painful to my neck. Also for the last couple of days my jaw has been out of place, so my bite is off and it hurts to chew. Once again I must recommend not growing old. It's okay up to a point, but beyond that it's an endless string of irritations and discomforts.

I don't think I've had an actual meal in a couple of days, but I certainly don't want to attempt one now with my bad bite. I might fix something soft later, or maybe just make a smoothie with my nearly overripe banana, though I am low on milk. Oh, and I'm kicking myself for not even checking outside the other night when the eclipse was going on, as it had gotten less cloudy that evening and I might have gotten a glimpse of it, but totally forgot until too late, like the next morning. Another age-related disappointment.

Rain likely again tomorrow, but today just chilly with possible showers. Rain even more likely on Monday, and welcome. Most of what remains of March is to be cloudy and cool, with some rain now and then, so sort of normal. Thank goodness something is normal.
