Reset Forty-Five, Day Fourteen
Oct. 19th, 2022 10:01 amTuesday sort of got away from me. As in I don't remember it at all. I do recall its aftermath, when I began nodding off after midnight, and then had a computer crash and rather than deal with it right away decided to take a nap, which lasted until almost seven o'clock this morning. As it was still dark when I woke up I was a bit surprised that it was already so late, but then I remembered that somebody took Standard Time out behind the shed and shot it, and we are now on permanent Daylight Saving Time. Ben Franklin finally got his wish and the whole country is now forced to be early to bed and early to rise. We'll see whether the healthy and wise part follows, but I suspect it won't.
I've eaten the penultimate donut in my current supply, and drunk both some tea and a bit of coffee, and see a full day ahead, which prospect has me pre-exhausted. If the brain fog lifts (never a sure thing) I might actually get some things done, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm thinking about letting the computer go back to sleep for a while and just reading more from a book. The present is displeasing to me, and I'd like to behave as though I hadn't gotten here yet. It's unlikely to work, but what the hell do I know? Nothing, really. Nothing at all.
