Reset Forty-Five, Day Twenty-Two
Oct. 27th, 2022 04:45 amHaving gotten up so early Wednesday morning, I got tired early too, and ended up going back to bed around eleven in the morning and sleeping until about three in the afternoon. Outside, the mild day was full of bird songs, and it was pleasant just to sit and listen to them. All my thoughts, of which I'm sure there were many, vanished in a brain fog. The sun went down, and I considered making dinner but didn't feel like it.
Eventually I just opened a can of soup, quite appropriate for the rapidly cooling night. Because I don't drink beer with soup, I waited until after midnight and opened a bottle of Guinness, my supply of which I had replenished Monday. It went well with my bedtime snack of cheese and crackers. Bedtime waited for a while, though, as I got hung up watching music videos, and am only now preparing to head into the bedroom. But first I'm going to listen once more to this old favorite song from Annie Lennox, part of the soundtrack to a life I never lived. I wish I could at least imagine it more clearly, but that fog still fills my brain. How not what I ever expected everything is!
