I don't know how it's gotten so late so fast. It pretty much rained all day Monday, and groceries were fetched, and it was less than disastrous, though the mini-cupcakes I bought were pretty bad (the picture on the web site showed chocolate frosting, but they arrived in holiday costumes of red and green with sprinkles, and without chocolate, supermarket bakery frosting is invariably revoltingly sweet.) The store did not run out of Guinness, but they did run out of Modello dark, which had been offered at a very good price. Disappointing but not surprising.

The store's web site is as much a pig's breakfast as it has been since they began redesigning it a few months ago, and I've gotten sufficiently sick of dealing with it that I might just quit buying there. I've given up hope that the company will take its collective executive head out of its ass and clean up its act. It's too bad, as I actually like this store better than Safeway, but as Safeway's web site is far less abominable I'll probably end up buying almost everything there.

I bought stuff for a big dinner, but what with the website and the waiting around and the lack of sleep and the putting stuff away where it doesn't really fit, I was too tired to cook it, so I slept, and did so for quite some time. When I got up it was too late for actual cooking so I just microwaved a frozen entrée. Later I whipped some cream with my superefficient stick blender (seriously, fifteen seconds to do what the old electric hand mixer took two minutes at) and ate it on some PIE! And I didn't make the whipped cream too sweet this time.

The rain has stopped for now, but it remains overcast and more showers are likely, and more thunder(WTF)storms could arrive this afternoon. The long range forecast has the rest of December pretty wet, which would be a good thing. It's not getting much colder yet though, so I doubt we'll be getting much snow in the mountains. We need that too, so January and February better get colder and stay wet. We'll pay more for heat now but less for water later. Fair deal I'd say.
